About Best Anchor Farm

Rooted in the Volta. Built for the future of fish farming.

We are a growing aquaculture business in the South Tongu District, producing fresh tilapia and helping more Ghanaians succeed in fish farming.

Our story

Why "Best Anchor"?

An anchor holds steady in moving water. That is what we set out to be: a dependable source of quality fish, steady partners to our customers and investors, and a strong anchor for jobs in our community.

Our farm sits at Dabala-Agordome, close to the banks of the Volta River. On land, rows of lined tanks give us full control over the early life of our fish. On the river, floating cages let them grow in clean, flowing water. Together, the two systems let us produce fish that is healthy, firm and consistent.

We have grown step by step: building tanks and cages with our own crew, training young people from the area, and investing in systems that let us measure everything we do. In 2025 that work was recognised when Best Anchor Farm was named the Volta Regional Best Fish Farmer at the 41st National Farmers' Day.

Our mission

To produce safe, affordable, high-quality fish for Ghanaian families and businesses through responsible, well-managed aquaculture.

Our vision

To be the most trusted fish farm in the Volta Region, and a training ground for the next generation of fish farmers.

What guides us

Our values

Quality first

Good feed, clean water and careful handling. No shortcuts on what ends up on your plate.

Transparency

Every feeding, health check and harvest is recorded, so customers and investors can trust the numbers.

Respect for the river

We farm with care for the Volta and the communities that depend on it.

Community

Local jobs, practical training and outreach that leave South Tongu stronger.

Our people

A trained, dedicated team

Behind every harvest is a team of farm hands, technicians, managers and administrators who look after the fish every single day: feeding, monitoring water quality, maintaining cages and handling harvests.

Many of our team members were trained right here on the farm. We continue to invest in their skills through regular training sessions with partners and experts.

In the community

Growing together with South Tongu

Best Anchor Farm creates jobs for young people in the area, buys locally wherever possible, and opens its gates to students, farmer groups and visitors who want to learn how modern aquaculture works.

We also support community celebrations and children's outreach, because a farm is only as strong as the community around it.
